Our History
City Convenience Store has been serving the Sydney CBD and its surrounds since 1996. It began with the acquisition of several businesses in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The company has progressively expanded to establish and operate over 180 City Convenience Stores Australia wide. The stores are either company owned or franchised.
The growth of City Convenience Stores has reflected the changing face of the City of Sydney itself. A once thriving business centre has become a location for an increasing number of residential developments and various styles of tourist accommodation. This has increased the number and diversity of City occupants as well as the demand for services at hours outside the typical working day.
The changing face of the Sydney CBD, from being used solely as a business centre to now serving thousands of city dwellers with residential developments appearing all over the city has supported the growth of City Convenience Stores. Over fifteen years of experience in developing City Convenience Stores has seen the Company’s ability to foresee growth trends, and secure prime locations for its stores. The organisations stability and planned growth has seen the development of valuable relationships with estate agents, property managers and landlords.
Like the city it commenced in, City Convenience Store is a dynamic organisation, continually looking for new opportunities for growth. In the past three years the Director of the City Convenience Store has seen the need to appoint a Business Development Manager to both consolidate the Convenience Store brand and expand in into new ‘redefined’ markets. This has been achieved by rebranding the stores through updated graphics, developing a modern fit out and establishing leasing partnerships.
